Product Details

After fixing and staining their own mitosis slides, students quantify the number of cells in each phase of the cell cycle. Students then calculate the amount of time it takes to complete each phase of mitosis in a typical plant meristem. Compound microscopes and onions with root tips are required and available separately.

Materials: Glass cover slips*, Glass slides*, 1 M Hydrochloric acid solution*, 1% Methylene blue solution*, Graduated pipets*, Scalpels
