Product Details
How does reactant concentration affect the reaction rate? This relationship is expressed in an equation called a rate law. In this laboratory activity, students will perform the reaction between hydrochloric acid and sodium thiosulfate solutions at various reactant concentrations. By monitoring the appearance of the solid product sulfur, the effect of each reactant on the rate will be determined. This data will then be used to determine the order of each reactant and the rate law. Includes reproducible student handouts, detailed background information and complete Teacher Notes with sample data, calculations and answers to questions, plus all necessary chemicals and specialized equipment.
Complete for 30 students working in pairs. Fifteen reusable, six-well reaction plates are required and available separately.
