With the Qualitative Analysis of 11 Unknowns Chemistry Super Value Laboratory Kit, students follow a qualitative analysis flow chart to identify of unknowns. Following the flow chart, students test the unknowns and record observations.
Eleven white solids—they all look alike! How can they be identified? Students follow a qualitative analysis flow chart to determine the identity of the eleven unknowns—all common household substances. Following the flow chart, students use a variety of physical and chemical procedures to test the unknowns and record descriptive observations on the data sheet. Students ultimately make a “guess” as to the identity of the unknowns. Teacher Notes and reproducible student handouts include easy-to-follow lab instructions, a detailed flow chart and data tables. Eleven unknown samples, test reagents, 11 polypropylene jars, test tubes, pipets and wood stirrers are provided.
Super Value Kit is complete for 5 classes of 30 students working in pairs.
