Product Details

Challenge your students to build a simple motor with only three components: a battery, a piece of copper wire and a strong magnet! In 1821, Michael Faraday developed a device that produced “electromagnetic rotation.” In this design challenge, students recreate a simple model of Faraday’s device that operates on the same electromagnetic principles. Once success is achieved, science and art are combined as students design and build a more creative motor. Includes magnets, batteries and copper wire. Students may supply additional materials for their creations.

Complete for 10 student groups.
