Western Blotting
Bio-Rad offers an extensive line of products for detection of proteins on western blots.
Blotting Membranes for Proteins
Bio-Rad's comprehensive line of blotting membranes are available in rolls or in sheets cut to fit the Mini-PROTEAN® Tetra blotting module. Membranes are also available in preassembled blotting membrane/filter paper sandwiches.
The 0.45 µm nitrocellulose membrane is most commonly used as a transfer medium for proteins. For transfer of low molecular weight proteins (<15,000), the 0.2 µm nitrocellulose membrane provides better sensitivity, especially with immunodetection assays.
Protein Blotting Buffers and Detection Kits
Get the essential reagents to perform colorimetric detection of proteins on western blots with the convenience of premixed buffers and enzyme substrate kits. Select from a combination of binding conjugates and color detection reagents, including alkaline phosphatase (AP)- or horseradish peroxidase (HRP)-conjugated secondary antibodies and HRP-conjugated protein A or protein G.
