EdvoCycler™—Classroom Thermal Cycler
Polymerase chain reaction (PCR) is a “workhorse” technique in modern DNA analysis—
the all-new EdvoCycler allows you to bring PCR to the classroom at an affordable
price! The thermal cycler is used to amplify trace amounts of DNA, producing millions
of copies of DNA fragments for analysis. PCR is used in medical and biological
research labs to sequence genes, diagnose infectious or hereditary diseases, and
determine paternity or identity. The EdvoCycler’s thermal block accommodates 25,
0.2-mL, thin-walled microtubes. The thermal cycler precisely raises and lowers the
temperature according to a pre-set program. Common PCR protocols programmed
into the thermal cycler make it easy to use, even for a beginner. New protocols can
also be added with temperatures as low as 4 °C or as high as 99 °C and a maximum
rate of 3 °C per second. Heated plate in the lid eliminates the need for messy PCR
oil or paraffin wax seals. Vivid seven-line LCD displays all program parameters
simultaneously without any scrolling. Unit is compact, 16" x 81/2 x 7", and weighs

Safe, economical power supplies designed for educational use. The mini power
supply is designed to power one electrophoresis apparatus at 70 volts. The dual
power supply is designed to power one or two electrophoresis apparatus at either 70
or 125 volts. The durable, non-metal, non-conductive housing elevates the units from
the table surface as a guard against shock hazards. Each power supply is equipped
with a power-on red indicator light, an easily replaceable 0.5 Amp, slow burn fuse,
3-wire grounded cords, and operates on standard 110/120 volt input. Designed to
work with any electrophoresis apparatus with banana jack connectors.
