      Investigating Heart Rate— Demonstration Kit
Resting heart rate, maximum heart rate, target heart rate—what do all of these numbers mean? How are these heart rates determined? In this completely reusable demonstration, three student volunteers perform fitness activities while three other volunteers use a stethoscope to measure heart rate at specific times. Make this a classroom activity with the purchase of additional stethoscopes.
Physiology of the Human Circulatory System—Super Value Kit
How are blood pressure, heart rate and exercise related? What is the baroreceptor response? Students measure their blood pressure and heart rate while at rest,
while reclining and after exercise. They then learn how these different measure- ments are combined to evaluate relative cardiac fitness. Kit includes equipment for 10 groups of students to experience the dynamic experiment at the same time.

Studying Heart Function Using Electrocardiograms— Super Value Kit
Students take on the role of cardiologists as they review four case studies to determine heart rate and analyze other characteristic patterns. The patterns are then used to identify how the electrical signal corre- sponds to the mechanical action of the heart and to determine if any irregularities are present. This completely reusable kit includes enough materials for 30 students working in pairs.

Exercise, CO2 and Respiration—Student Laboratory Kit
How and why do athletes train to increase their breathing efficiency? Students will answer this question and explore the complex biofeedback mechanism by which the body uses the production of CO2 and pH to regulate breathing. Includes materials for 30 students working in pairs. A Super Value Kit is also available for 5 classes of 30 students working in pairs.
