Nucleotide Model Kit
Dive deep into the atomic structure of DNA! Build models of each of the nucleotide bases—adenine, cytosine, guanine, thymine—and then pair them up. Model allows students to actually see the molecular and geometric structures of DNA and the hydrogen bonding that holds everything together. Base pairs are brightly colored so everyone can easily see the chemical structure of this essential molecule. Sturdy, hands-on model invites students to manipulate the nucleotides to obtain a complete understanding of DNA’s chemical detail and atomic struc- ture. One kit includes instructions and materials to build one model of each of the four DNA bases.
DNA/RNA Protein Synthesis Kit
Students build a DNA molecule and then replicate, transcribe, and translate it. All of the steps and transitions involved in the synthesis of a protein molecule are illustrated by hands-on model building. The roles of DNA, messenger RNA (mRNA), ribosomes, transfer RNA (tRNA), codons, and anti-codons lead up to amino acids bonding to form a protein molecule.
Materials provided for 24 students working in pairs. Materials are reusable.
Protein Synthesis Demonstration Model
Helping students learn about protein synthesis is easy! Large, colorful models of DNA, mRNA, ribosome, tRNA, and amino acids ensure that even students in the back will clearly see the demonstration. Simply attach the durable plastic pieces to a magnetic board and move them around to show the steps involved in transcription and translation. Comes with smaller size student models allowing students to follow along at their desks during the demonstration. Rugged demonstration set will last for years to come! Includes a how-to CD, complete instruc- tions, and enough materials for 20 students.
Pop Beads/Accessories
Students simply pop the beads together to construct models of DNA and to simulate its molecular activities.
