Undergravel Filter
Efficient up-to-date design treats organic wastes naturally, ensuring crystal clear water in freshwater or marine aquariums. Twin lift tubes and a unique wavy plate design resist clogging and evenly draw water through the gravel bed—ensuring that the entire bed is available for bacterial breakdown of toxins. Gravel guards at the base of each lift tube and high collars prevent gravel and fish from getting beneath the plate. Also features long-lasting air diffusers for high-volume flow of bubbles and strong circulation. Includes two carbon cartridges for immediate setup. Requires an air pump for operation. Replacement cartridges are available. Monthly cartridge changes are recommended.
Power Filter with BIO-Wheel
Installed in conjunction with undergravel filters in tanks larger than 15 gallons and also in 10- or 15-gallon tanks with large fish popula- tions. This unit filters aquarium water three ways—mechanically, chemically and biologically—and greatly improves overall circulation. The built-in pump first forces water through a layer of dual-density filter floss for removal of excess food and other particulates. Water next passes through a layer of activated charcoal for removal of discol- oration, noxious odors and numerous chemical contaminants. The water-driven BIO-Wheel is the final step in the process. Alternately wet and dry as it rotates, the BIO-Wheel harbors cultures of aerobic bacteria which reduce potentially toxic ammonia and nitrite on contact.
Filter cartridges, which contain the filter floss and charcoal, are quickly and easily replaced. The unit housing is designed with an overflow window which operates as a visual indicator of when a new cartridge is needed. Replacement cartridges are listed below.

Aquarium Filter Floss
High-grade synthetic filter floss. Efficiently traps loose particulate matter and acts as a support medium for beneficial bacteria. Completely inert—it will not affect water chemistry or pH—and unlike glass wool it is non-irritating, and lint free. Supplied in a seven-ounce bag—suffi- cient for numerous filter changes.
