Explore the world of renewable energy and engineering with plug-in electric vehicles in the WhiteBox Learning^® Green Car Kits. Students learn important STEM concepts, including speed versus range, gear ratios, Earth sciences, electronics and rechargeable batteries. Kit includes gear font package, 2 battery holders, test lead package (with 5 leads), 2 screw eyes, diode, toggle switch, 4 AA NiMH rechargeable batteries, 2 narrow wheel sets, 3 motors, 2 aluminum axles, motor clip, 2 plastic straws and 2 AA alkaline non-rechargeable batteries. Enhance the experience with the WhiteBox Learning standards-based, cloud-based Green Car STEM Software Application (available separately). This software lets students “connect the virtual to the physical” by engineering, analyzing and simulating their designs virtually then printing templates to scale and building physical models. One kit serves 3–5 students; kits sold with or without solar panel as the solar panels are reusable among classes. Multimeter, hot glue gun, scale, masking tape, newspaper, chip board and basic hand tools required but not included.
