CRISPR-Cas9 genotyping extension kit, includes Out of the Blue Extension Refill Pack materials (12012708EDU), InstaGene matrix, and PCR, micro, and conical tubes. Requires Out of the Blue CRISPR Kit (12012608EDU) and electrophoresis reagents, sold separately. For educational use only.
With the Out of the Blue Genotyping Extension Kit, students use multiplex PCR and agarose gel electrophoresis to confirm the edit they made to the lacZ gene with the Out of the Blue CRISPR Kit (sold separately). A key step in CRISPR and gene editing research workflows, this genotyping activity offers students an opportunity to engage in the scientific process of compiling evidence from multiple sources to explain a phenomenon.
Each kit contains the following materials for 8 student workstations (2–4 students per workstation).
