This PAVO bundle introduces students to the study of plants through 5 synchronous activities, three of which are hands-on laboratory experiments. An additional activity—POGIL Photosynthesis: What’s in a Leaf?—helps students develop an understanding of the relationship between structure and function in leaves. Three hands-on lab experiments help students understand the process of photosynthesis. They will also observe patterns of plant root and stem growth, answer questions about tropisms, and study allelopathic interactions in interactive and engaging ways. The two other activities require no equipment or materials, and visualize real phenomena through videos relative to plant growth. In addition, self-grading allows you to track student progress as each activity/experiment is completed. Once all of the activities/experiments have been completed, students will bolster their knowledge of plants. Studies include rate of respiration with changes in pH, environmental effects on photosynthesis, comparing and contrasting how different variables affect photosynthesis, and more.
