The Bio-Rad UView™ Mini Transilluminator is a compact, UV-lamp–based unit (T5 6W, 365 nm) designed for fast and safe visualization of fluorescently stained agarose gels. Its built-in auto-safety shutoff disables UV output whenever the lid is removed, while a repositionable magnetic UV shield allows gel excision without removing the plate. The viewing area (15.0 × 8.0 cm) accommodates common gel sizes, while the compact housing (13.2 × 24.7 × 4.9 cm) and lightweight design (1.4 kg) make it easy to fit on high school or college lab benches. Powered via auto-switching 115–240 V input, the unit outputs 12 V DC at 1.5 A, and includes country adapters for lab flexibility. Designed for fluorescence applications requiring 365 nm excitation, the UView is ideal for teaching labs, gel-electrophoresis workflows, and classroom DNA visualization setups.
