Soil Sampling Bags
Reclosable plastic bags imprinted with instructions for proper tech- niques of collecting and preparing soil samples. Bag size is 6" x 4".
Soil Sampling Tube
This 12"-long galvanized steel sampling tube has a 1" core diameter. A cutaway side in the tube allows for examination of soil core sample prior to its removal. This is a professional quality implement that comes with detailed instructions and 20 soil sampling bags.
Soil Sieve Set
Used to separate and grade soil samples. Six interlocking metal sieves each have a different size brass wire mesh screen. Wire mesh sizes are 5, 10, 40, 60, 120 and 250 holes per cm. Mesh openings measure 3.35 mm, 0.86 mm, 0.38 mm and 0.14 mm, respectively. Each sieve is 6" in diameter and 2" tall. Complete with a solid bottom container and cover. Set of six.
Soil Thermometer
Stainless steel thermometer has a 5" stem—long enough to test soil temperature at most planting depths. The 11⁄2" diameter dial reads in both °C and °F. Thermometer ranges are 0–80 °C and 20–180 °F.

What are the pollution levels in these local surface waters? These kits allow your students to check water quality using safe, simple and effec- tive tablet-type tests. Students will perform chlorine, dissolved oxygen, nitrate, phosphate and pH tests. Kits also include a detailed background section on types of water pollution, sources and effects of each factor tested, color comparison charts, reproducible student handouts and a complete instructor’s guide with valuable teaching tips, answers and further extensions.
Single-Class Kits have materials for 30 students working in pairs. Five-Class Kits (Super Value Kits) are complete for 5 classes of 30 students working in pairs. Replacement set of color comparison charts are available. Individual Kits contain a color comparison chart, detailed instructions, sample tube and enough tablets for 15 tests.
