Testing Pollution in Tap Water

Determine the quality of tap water in your area by
using accurate and reliable color comparison tests. Students will inves- tigate the water quality and pollution levels of local drinking water. This easy-to-use kit includes tests for chlorine, total hardness, iron, copper and pH. Kit also includes a detailed background section on water pollu- tion, sources and effects of each factor tested, color comparison charts, reproducible student handouts and a complete instructor’s guide with valuable teaching tips, answers and further extensions.
Single-Class Kits have materials for 30 students working in pairs. Five-Class Kits (Super Value Kits) is complete for 5 classes of 30 students working in pairs. Replacement sets of color comparison charts are available. Individual Kits contain a color comparison chart, sample tube, detailed instructions and enough tablets for 15 tests.
TesTab® Water Investigation Kit,
Complete Set of 12 Modules
Water testing is safe and simple with LaMotte’s TesTab® reagent tablets! Monitor water quality and pollution levels of natural waters as your students test for 12 different water factors—alkalinity, ammonia, chloride, chlorine, chromium, copper, dissolved oxygen, hardness, iron, nitrate, pH and phosphate. It’s as easy as dropping the tablet into a tube containing the water sample, shaking and determining the reading by the resulting color.
The TesTab Water Investigation Kit contains 12 individually boxed modules, one for each test factor, allowing students to work in teams while out in the field. Each module contains enough TesTabs and test- ing tubes to perform 100 tests. Includes colorful laminated diagrammed instructions, color comparison charts, and flash cards. You will also receive The Monitor’s Handbook containing loads of information on water monitoring, sampling equipment, test procedures and interpreta- tion of results. All packaged in an easy-to-carry field box.
