Just add water and, after a week or so, your “mini-pond” will come to life. The dry mixture of encysted and dormant protists included in this kit contains a range of organisms likely to include diatoms, ciliates, dinoflagellates, euglenoids, rotifers, algae and others. Use your microscope to view the diverse array of organisms up close over several days to view the ever-changing ecosystem. The microscopic examination will reveal a great diversity of locomotion and food-gathering adaptations. A great introduction to microscopic life. Includes dry protist mix, tank, food, identification key and instructions. Dry mixture has a one- to two-year shelf life.
