Challenge students to create a tower of color by using just three ingredients: water, food dye and sugar. Students must mix the ingredients in varying ratios to produce solutions of different density and color. When the solutions are added to a tall cylinder in the correct order, the different colored solutions separate into layers owing to their varying densities. The result is a beautiful tower with multiple layers of color. Students can be true to their school by using school colors or any colors of their choice. Instructions, sugar and food dye are included.

Complete for 24 students working in groups of 4. Separatory funnels and rubber tubing required and available separately.
