The PASCO Wireless Melting Point Apparatus is designed for instructional chemistry laboratories where accurate, repeatable melting point determination is essential. The system accommodates up to three capillary tubes simultaneously and uses digitally controlled heating with forced airflow to ensure uniform temperature distribution. Students can precisely control heating rates to avoid overshoot near the melting point and use software-based “Prompt” and “Hold” functions to pause progression until ready to observe phase changes. Temperature data is transmitted via Bluetooth® to compatible devices, allowing real-time monitoring and analysis. The apparatus reaches temperatures up to 380 °C with a resolution of 0.01 °C and delivers fast warm-up times for efficient classroom use. A built-in cooling fan, 3× viewing lens, and included capillary tubes support safe, clear observation of melting behavior during organic chemistry labs.
