Your students will be fascinated with this educational device that allows them to investigate the thermal characteristics of three commonly-used electrical thermometry devices. Study the thermal behavior of a three-pole metal resistor, thermistor and thermocouple, and also explore the features of a closed loop digital temperature control system. The signals from the three sample devices can be read by a suitable measuring device provided by the user (e.g., digital multimeter). The digital control system can be operated in P, PI, PD or PID mode to show their characteristics when controlling the oven temperature with or without fan cooling. A wide range of parameters and alarms can be set to explore their effects.
