PAVO Bundle: Renewable Energy Alternatives

With this PAVO bundle, students are introduced to the topic of renewable energy alternatives through four synchronous activities. Three of these are hands-on interactive lab experiments. In these lab experiences, students learn to investigate how design impacts turbine power output, and how solar energy is converted into electricity. Explore how dye-sensitized solar cells (DSC) mimic the process that occurs in photosynthesis to harvest sunlight and convert it into electricity. The other activity of the four can be done synchronously or asynchronously, and requires no extra supplies or materials. This activity consists of laboratory videos of real phenomena to help students understand visually the real-world applications of renewable energy knowledge. One additional activity, Science2Go: Alternative Energy, has students watch a video of lab demonstrations and answer multiple-choice questions. Test students on the environmental impact of non-renewable sources of energy, and the benefits of renewable energy alternatives. This PAVO bundle is a surefire way to get students involved, and enhance their knowledge regarding the future of energy.
