Hood Storage of Chemicals
Reasons not to use a hood for chemical storage:
1. Hoods do not provide a secure storage space.
2. Labels may be damaged beyond recognition due to constant exposure to
a corrosive environment.
3. The presence of hazardous materials stored under a hood would seriously
complicate a hood fire.
4. Storing chemicals in the hood reduces available work space.
5. Many fume motor/blower sets are not designed for continuous,
24-hour
operation.
