Sphagnum Moss
An excellent multi-purpose planting medium and soil supplement. Available as long
fibers or milled. Long fiber sphagnum is used as a mulch, bulb starter, moisture retainer,
and soil conditioner. Milled sphagnum is an ideal germination medium—actually
helping to eliminate seedling “damp-off”. Either type will serve as a cultivation medium
for carnivorous plants in terraria. Supplied in bags of approximately two gallons.

Planting Medium—Gro-Brick™
Natural coconut fibers ultra-compressed into the size of a brick. Combined with
one gallon of water it will expand to yield a full nine quarts of ready-to-use organic
potting medium or soil improver. Compact for storage and handling; and unlike peat
it is a completely renewable resource—actually a byproduct of coconut processing.
Medium has excellent moisture retention capacity, remains highly porous, is near
neutral pH (approx. 6.0) and is free from weeds and disease organisms.

Vermiculite
As a germination medium, vermiculite virtually eliminates the problem of damping-off
and maintains optimum moisture and aeration levels. As a soil additive, its numerous
pores and large internal surface area improve soil texture and help to absorb and then
to slowly release water as needed. The chemical nature of vermiculite also contributes
buffering capacity and pH stability to soils. This is horticultural grade vermiculite—
sterile, nearly neutral in pH, and free of substances toxic to plants. Asbestos-free.
